Lilyfield

Our Lilyfield project represents a significant transformation, with a knock-down rebuild that delivers a spacious and refined modern coastal home tailored for family living.

Designed by Justin Long Architects and built by Debono Constructions, the new two-storey residence replaces a modest single-level dwelling with a generous four-bedroom, three-bathroom home complete with multiple living areas and a pool.

From the outset, the design intent was to achieve a calm and sophisticated aesthetic, expressed through a predominantly white exterior contrasted by bold black window framing. This interplay of light and dark creates a striking street presence while maintaining a sense of serenity.

A number of standout architectural features define the home, including impressive three-metre-high steel bifold doors that open the living spaces to the outdoors, a sculptural curved internal entry wall, and feature timber-look batten cladding paired with warm timber ceilings.

Together, these elements introduce texture, movement, and a sense of craftsmanship throughout the home.

Despite the scale of the build, the project was not without its challenges. Restricted site access required careful planning, with multiple crane lifts and street closures necessary to safely deliver materials and execute key construction stages.

As one of Debono Constructions’ largest projects to date, the Lilyfield build showcases the team’s ability to deliver complex, high-quality homes that balance architectural ambition with practical execution. The result is a thoughtfully designed coastal residence that offers both everyday comfort and enduring visual appeal.
